Nootropic, Mood and Sleep Peptides in South Africa

Semax and Selank are the best-known peptides in this group. Both were developed in Russia, and in South Africa they are research compounds. Semax is an analogue of a fragment of ACTH, studied for its effect on BDNF and attention. Selank is a synthetic analogue of tuftsin, studied for anxiety without sedation. Both are also available here as ready-made nasal sprays.

DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) was first isolated in the 1970s from rabbits in induced sleep, and has been studied for sleep regulation with mixed results. Pinealon is a short bioregulator peptide from the same school of Russian research as epithalon. NAD+ is the coenzyme at the centre of cellular energy production, and its levels decline with age. Adamax is a newer derivative of Semax with little published research so far.

Most of this research is small, and much of it comes from a few Russian groups. Each product page lists what has been studied and links the sources.
