About Thymosin Alpha-1
Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide produced by the thymus, the gland that trains T-cells and that atrophies steadily from adolescence onward. It is one of the most clinically established compounds in this catalogue: it is approved in a number of countries as an immune modulator and has been used clinically for decades, particularly in chronic viral infection and as a vaccine adjuvant.
The word to hold onto is modulator. It is studied for activating T-cells and dendritic cells and for restoring balance to an immune response, not for stimulating the immune system indiscriminately — which matters, because indiscriminate stimulation is the last thing you want in a system that can overreact.
