Bacteriostatic, for anything you will draw from more than once. The benzyl alcohol preservative is what allows repeated punctures; plain sterile water has no preservative and is single-use.

About Bacteriostatic Water

Every lyophilised peptide in the catalogue arrives as a dry powder and has to be reconstituted before it can be drawn. Bacteriostatic water is what you reconstitute it with: sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative that inhibits bacterial growth so the vial can be punctured repeatedly over weeks instead of being discarded after one use.

That preservative is the whole difference between bacteriostatic and plain sterile water. Sterile water is single-use — nothing stops bacteria growing in it once the seal is broken. Since almost every peptide protocol involves drawing from the same vial many times, bacteriostatic is the correct choice, and running out of it is the most common reason an order gets held up.
